Purpose:
Resource One is the global Exploration and Production IT system for hydrocarbon reserves management and reporting within the Group. Resource One serves to improve the understanding, management & maturation of the Group’s hydrocarbon portfolio, and encompasses a suite of IT tools used to execute reserves accounting workflows in support of the annual business planning & ARPR (Annual Review of Petroleum Resources) processes. Resource One is a Most Confidential, Business Critical application, requiring high availability.

Responsibilities will include application support activities; managing or performing internal projects; and liasing with Resource One end useres and stakeholders.
– ITIL activities such as Incident, Problem, Change Management etc.
– Providing ongoing technical maintenance and support for the Resource One back-end infrastructure, application and its interfaces.
– Identifying, diagnosing and rectifying any number of problems affecting the Resource One system which may emanate from software, hardware or the operating system.
– Specifying, implementing, installing and configuring new instances of Resource One, particulary on the back-end infrastructure.
– Co-ordinating and executing Resoruce One infrastructure projects and initiatives by TLS & suppliers, seeing the projects through to completion.
– Liasing with project managers, engineers, service providers, end users, the business and other stakeholders.

– Working in a globally dispersed, virtual team and project.
– Managing priorities and workload; balancing operational with project objectives
– Understanding the security threats posed to data, applications and their integrity, confidentiality & availability.
– Working with stakeholders from different levels and parts of the organisation.
– Working with Business critical and Most confidental systems.

Technical Skills and experience:
• A degree in computing or IT.
• Web Application support experience (2nd or 3rd level ).
• ITIL & Service Management experience.
• A sound knowledge of Windows Server & networking technologies.
• A sound knowledge of Internet technologies, and an understanding of Internet security. • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or
• Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD).
• MS SQL, Oracle or DBA experience.
• Microsoft technologies programming or scripting experience.

Soft Skills and experience:
• Experience working in an Enterprise IT environment.
• A logical and systematic approach to problem resolution across a broad spectrum of technologies.
• Experience in managing IT projects.
• Experience balancing conflicting priorities.
• Experience managing stakeholders.
• Experience working in virtual teams across the globe.

Special Remarks:
The individual will be part of a global support team of 6 people, located in The Netherlands, the US, Malaysia and India. This is part of the larger Resource One project of around 40 people [mostly in The Hague]. Stakeholders include different levels of the organisation, both in IT and the Business. No direct financial or supervisory responsibilities.
