Within the department Research & Development is our client looking for a Software Developer. In this discipline is diagnostics in data science context a process that continuously gain insights based on measured data in actual use and use these insights for improvements in the value-chain.

This diagnostic feedback loop contributes to an improved design, realizes a longer uptime and improves manufacturing quality. Predictive maintenance is made possible by discovering (deterioration) trends. Next to that, the diagnostics in this discipline is used to improve, control and feed business processes.

Business Intelligence techniques feed the business decisions to plan next line products and adapt existing products. The quality of the analyses is important, since they lead to actions with impact. Note that this requires good contents, reliable tools and maybe even the domain experts themselves.Function developers are responsible to realize the abovementioned.

The tools to realize this are based on Python and several relevant libraries such as Pandas, SciPy, matPlotLib and Jupyter notebooks.
The assignment will be to support the functional developers, which are mostly used to working with Matlab and arrays, in realizing their goals in the new tools, to set-up standards where relevant, and create building blocks to be used by the developers.
The start-up assignment to learn the project and the environment will be to further develop the diagnostics framework.
The tool is released at an early stage, so not yet fully compliant with all engineering methodologies. As it turned out to be very useful, it is currently used by multiple users. By ensuring the maintainability, increase the stability and minor extensions to the tool.

Who are we looking for?
– Python expert with meaningful experience in data science context. E.g. experience with Pandas, SciPy, MatPlotLib, and Jupyter notebooks, etc;
– Large data has to be analyzed and resources are limited so as such performance is important, therefore performant Python is a plus. (Think of parallelism and knowing how to profile);
– Assertiveness and good interpersonal skills are required. Ability to interact and cooperate with other disciplines and departments such as service and manufacturing;
– A decent portfolio of work to show you have what it takes to work in the role;
– A Bachelor degree in Software;
– 3 years of work experience;
– Hands-on, assertive, and good communicational skills;
– Profound knowledge – verbal and written – of Dutch and/or English;
– Candidate is permissioned to work in the Netherlands, and able to provide, if requested, a certificate of conduct.
