The Senior Project Management Office (PMO) Consultant operates within the Global Centre of Excellence (CoE) Programme Delivery, which provides project and programme management support for financials, planning, resourcing, controls and standards. The Senior PMO Consultant provides support and guidance to the PMO Consultants and Project Support Officers (PSO) by ensuring the correct capacity and capability of the resource pool to support the delivery of the project portfolio pipeline and will manage the on-boarding to off-boarding of both internal and external resources.

The Senior PMO Consultant drives initiatives that support pro-active management of project delivery risks and issues. Examples of these are reporting, progress meetings and specific project management governance.

In addition, the Senior PMO Consultant supports CoE-, Project- and Delivery Managers with managing, planning and allocating resources and keeping track of project planning, progress and budget, enabling a higher efficiency in project delivery. The Senior PMO Consultant also supports the Project Managers with running their project in accordance with the best practices, methodologies, standards, tools and templates.

Within any activity the Senior PMO Consultant will need to manage project-related items in accordance with GIS project management standards.
A Senior PMO Consultant may also be allocated and expected to manage project management tasks on the assigned activities based on content, availability and project characteristics like scope, complexity and throughput time. The Senior PMO Consultant is expected to:
• Understand and interpret financial information to ensure value driven decision are made and the impact to the organisation clearly articulated
• Understand the end-to-end service not just the technical or functional components and business impact from a user’s perspective
• Develop win-win, collaborative relations that add clear value to all internal and external stakeholders
• Actively embrace and promote change, especially from a business perspective
• Lead by example and actively engage and motivate individuals around them
