The Organisation:

Our client is a Silicon Valley company that develops the only cloud software platform for telecom providers, content aggregators and CE manufacturers of settop boxes. You’ll be part of a team consisting of skilled and highly educated technologists. The culture is highly informal and flat. They provide their employees flexibility. Our client works with the newest technologies. Our client has adopted Agile/Scrum development techniques which really require change the way testing is perceived throughout a project; rather than a phase at the end, component testing is integrated with programming tasks. Automated tests are key in this phase. Component testing counts for about 90% of all test efforts. The remaining 10% is used for end-to-end System testing, again automated as much as possible.

Function:

You will contribute to the Quality Assurance process on the platform and the preparation and execution of QA processes.

You find the best test strategy for new product features, making trade-offs between automated and manual testing approaches.

Work closely with developers to design new tests and find and resolve issues.

Release validation and approval.

Input into short and medium-term development roadmap.

Required background:

You have a Msc or Bsc

You have a proven track record working with Software Testing in a Linux environment.

Experience with scripting is a must, Python experience is highly recommended.

You understand different test strategies (functional testing, exploratory testing, etc) and how to apply them in practice.

Strong analytical skills and good practical judgment.

Affinity and passion for Internet technology, interactive television and new innovative technologies.

You have knowledge of the use of automated test tools and agile development methodology.

You like working in a small and informal company environment, so you are a natural team player.
