Our client is looking for a Operations Engineer to perform the role of IT Specialist. In this role you will work in a DevOps team under Wholesale Banking, reporting to the team manager.

You are proactive, feel a personal responsibility for the quality and constant improvement of your work. You can work independently, you can coordinate others but you are also an excellent team player. You strive to continuously improve the applications you are responsible for, their reliability and our clients business agility. You have worked with and understand multi-tier applications, and have strong knowledge of databases, operating systems and application servers. You are familiar with the Agile methodologies and ITIL processes. You have an excellent command of English, spoken and written.

Your Team – the DevOps Team
At our client, DevOps teams use the Agile Scrum Methodology and Continuous Delivery / Continuous Improvement Engineering Practices. A DevOps team consists of two roles: Development Engineer and Operations Engineer. Collectively, the DevOps team has full responsibility for the Development, Deployment, Quality Assurance/Testing, Support and Operation of an application and its associated components and interfaces, forming part of a wider chain of applications that enables a customer to perform a transaction with our client. This is called a Customer Journey and is at the heart of everything we do.

What will you do? What are you responsible for?
* Understanding how your application fits into the overall chain(s) of systems that implement our clients business processes, and working with your “chain neighbor” teams where necessary to improve reliability, efficiency, simplicity and eliminate waste.
* Identifying IT related risks, feeling ownership for addressing and resolving them while creating overall awareness.
* Creating and executing capacity, lifecycle and change management procedures and processes.
* Creating, and executing Operational Excellence Tests (e.g. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Tests).
* Understanding the security aspects of your application while making sure that the agreed Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability ratings are met.
* Planning and executing the establishment of new interface connections between our clients and/or external systems
* Understanding and monitoring the performance of your application but also the entire technology stack on which the application is running.
